Just announced a few minutes ago, from the release sent out:

The UCLA men’s basketball team will take on New Mexico in a nonconference neutral-site matchup on Friday, Nov. 8, at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nev.

The Bruins will face New Mexico in their second game of the 2024-25 regular season on Friday, Nov. 8, just outside of Las Vegas, in a state-of-the-art entertainment venue that opened in 2022.

Sounds like we’re talking to cornerbacks coach Kodi Whitfield either today or tomorrow after practice.

This is the second to last day of limited media viewing. They will still have three more practices after Wednesday to wrap up fall camp before next week’s game prep begins.

The first of three this week open to the media for early viewing before the last three are closed entirely.

DeShaun said this morning that Florida A&M transfer edge rusher Cherif Seye is about where RB Jalen Berger was last week as far as joining in on practices. So we could see him on the practice field at some point before next week’s game week prep.

Yesterday, which was a walkthrough without media, was technically practice No. 13 if you wonder why there isn’t a thread for that one.

The schedule now moves up an hour, so we should get started at 9:15 a.m. This is the practice that was originally supposed to be open.

In less then two weeks. A lot of firsts here. Coach Foster’s coaching career as a HC, first Big ten season, first season for UCLA”s OC and DC. New offense and a completely re-tooled OL and DL and a new season for Garbers as a starter for the opener…it’s his team.

Does anyone know anything about this Hawaiian team?? Are they any good? Strengths? Weakness?

UCLA’s schedule features games against No. 3 Oregon, No. 8 Penn State, No. 13 LSU, No. 23 USC and No. 25 Iowa.

Outside of the top 25 and receiving votes were Washington (23 votes) and Nebraska (16 votes).

On my way back home, two of the three 2026 four-star offensive tackles who picked up offers Friday got back to me today.

So I’ll have thoughts from both Micah Smith and Tommy Tofi about the coaching staff and their recruitment once I have a moment.

Still waiting to hear back from Samuelu Utu, the other one offered.

Sierra Canyon kicker Ashton Zamani and Oaks Christian punter Lennox Miller both announced after UCLA wrapped up its open practice that they committed to the program.

Zamani was offered after performing well at the prospect camp in June, while Miller’s offer came while visiting for the BBQ and pool party at the end of July.
