UCLA has added its latest commitment tonight. The Bruins currently have Stanford commit Hunter Clegg, BYU commit Siale Esera and Washington-based RB Isaiah Carlson on campus for official visits.

UCLA should be healthy again with Jaylen Clark and Mac Etienne back tonight.

I’ll be taking some personal time the next three days with a nephew flying in to visit starting Friday morning.

Carter Shaw, the son of now former Stanford coach David Shaw, announced on Instagram that he’ll be walking on at UCLA.

As more players around the country enter the portal, one is Stanford WR Colby Bowman.

The academics and UCLA’s recent history with transfers from such institutions is one obvious fit. Another being another year with some room to add a WR with Jake Bobo now done.

Bowman is a local product who attended St. John Bosco and he’s got speed.

The Associated Press is reporting that Rose Bowl officials informed CFP officials that it is willing to alter agreements for the 2024 and ’25 seasons, which will allow for an expansion to a 12-team playoff

UCLA has locked up its first transfer addition of the fall/winter with Penn defensive end Jake Heimlicher announcing his commitment to the Bruins tonight. Transfers tend to come together quickly and it has only been eight days since Heimlicher announced his plan to enter the transfer portal after a successful senior season at Penn. Because the Ivy League caps how many years its athletes can play, the Colorado native entered the portal and the Bruins offered two days later. Now he's officially joining the program and is a talented veteran player for the team heading into next season. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end led the Ivy League in sacks this season (9) and finished the year with 47 tackles and 13 tackles for loss. He's got 25 1/2 tackles for loss and 16 1/2 sacks the last two seasons. He is also a finalist for the FCS Defensive Player of the Year award.

Jaylen Clark is also back at practice after missing Saturdays practice and Sunday’s game.

It would be pretty cool to collect the best Academic/Athletic Universities into one unapologetic, national conference. SC can't be in it because they're scumbags. Imagine the job fairs, recruiting opportunities the

New Year’s Six Bowl Projections 2022-2023: Week 13​

Georgia (SEC), Michigan (Big Ten), TCU (Big 12), USC (Pac-12). If all four of those teams win their respective conference championship games, that’s it. That’s your College Football Playoff. The only question is whether or not Ohio State slips in if USC goes down, and for now, let’s not work on the possibilities if TCU gets destroyed by Kansas State.

This all goes by the College Football Playoff committee rankings for the New Year’s Six. The call is that Tulane beats UCF for the American Athletic Conference title. the other call is that Penn State, Alabama, and Tennessee will get the three big bowl slots.

Alabama vs Texas in the Sugar Bowl would be great if it didn’t already happen. The committee would want to try avoiding that. That would mean Penn State would be the likely Power Five program that has to deal with Tulane.

UCLA spokesperson just told me Jaylen Clark (non-COVID illness) is doubtful to play today.

Bo Nix did not look very mobile with that ankle injury. No where near the player he was when we played them. Now kind of hoping UW beats WSU. I think they may be better than OR with a banged up QB and really do not want to see SC win the league title. I did want UW to win to help UCLA get a better game but think now I rather have a higher probability of SC losing.

Makes that SC loss even more painful. Give Charbonnet the ball at the end of each half and we could be playing OR or WA in the championship game and SC would be staring at the Holiday Bowl.

Harbaugh may be the best coach in college football. The way he turned that program around, dealt with adversity, and now is stomping the rival is impressive. Straight up outcoached Day in that game and has taken good but not great talent to the playoffs two years in a row. If they go in as the 2 seed, they could play TCU as the #3 seed. TCU is vulnerable so that game is winnable. Then it is most likely Georgia in the championship game. Would love to see them end the reign of the teams from the South.
