Underclassmen*
I'm torn on his dicision. I understand if his concerns are about a pro style offense and that he's not suited for it. But, is there any question that he would've been by far Rosen's #1 target? I understand that he wouldn't be a prototypical TE but a very affective Aaron Hernandez, Jordan Reed, Antonio Gates, Zack Ertz, type player. Those players aren't asked to block as much but create a huge matchup problem. On the other hand he did have 872 yards with 10 TD's and that's gonna be hard to match.
Benenoch, mistake. He struggled zone blocking and pass protecting. He really could've bolstered himself in a base blocking, double teaming scheme.
Redmon, didn't apply himself, according to rumors. So it doesn't seem like he had a choice but this scheme would've fit him perfectly. Attitude wise it was an even better fit. Redmon and Benenoch hurt this team more than Perkins and Duarte leaving. I don't think it would hurt as much under Mazzone's scheme but under Polamalu's it does hurt. They have a lot of experience and this new system fits them best.
Perkins, I don't think anyone blames him. But we can only dream about the possibilities that he would've provided this team. At the same time Starks and Soso are ready.
