Went out to watch a Ground Zero 7-on-7 scrimmage today with Lokeni Toailoa the primary reason I was out there.
He looked OK, a little overweight, but this is never going to be his strongsuit regardless.
Anyway, the vibe around his recruitment is that UCLA still leads for him, despite Jeff Ulbrich's departure. When I told him I wanted to interview him about Ulbrich leaving, he joked, "Man, you want me to cry on camera?" He really liked Brick, but either way, the Bruins still look good here.
The interesting thing is Toailoa speaks with Demetrice Martin and Angus McClure regularly still, and they've given no hints as to who will be the new DC or LB coach. He also said he's in constant contact with guys on the team, like Kenny Clark, and they too haven't heard any names. It's remarkable how under wraps this whole thing has been kept.
Interview with Lokeni is up on the front page now.
