Hotel recommendation for A&M game

Wondering where the best area to stay would be for the weekend:

Pasadena

West LA

Redondo Beach area

Other

Possibly coming in with an A&M couple who have never been to LA or the Rose Bowl. And I haven't been to the area in a few years.

Planning on going to the beach one or two days as well as just sight-see as well as go to the game.
