...the AD has got to go. Here's why:
1.) not a single NC was won in 2016,
2.) the men and women's track teams are a continuing disgrace, two teams with a glorious history of
excellence and success, including at the highest levels of individual competition,
3.) the women's swim team is a continuing disgrace, (Stanford will win another NC this year with two Olympic and World Champions, Simone Manuel and Katie Ledecky, leading the way.),
4.) and how about this...there is no men's swim team at all at UCLA!?! (Stanford, USC, and Cal have dominant men's teams, which you know greatly enhances recruiting for their women's teams.)
5.) no men's gymnastics team, even though the women's team is an annual contender for a NC,
6.) Stanford and even USC will soon pass UCLA in total NC's won.
To satisfy Title IX requirements, just add women's lacrosse, a growing and popular sport nationally, in order to reinstate a men's swim team. Something similar can be done to re-establish men's gymnastics. UCLA has more than enough money. Trust me, if necessary, plenty of private donors will step up to help pay for this.
But, nothing will be done, and UCLA's over-all excellence in all sports will continue to decline as long as the AD continues to do nothing to change the things that need changing.
