UCLA worked out once again Thursday night, replicating its Wednesday practice schedule almost exactly. There were about two hours of walkthrough individual stuff, and then about an hour of team drills.

Here were the notes:

-Nate Meadors worked out on a bike throughout practice, obviously nursing some sort of injury. Darnay Holmes took his place with the first team.

-Eldridge Massington appeared to tweak something and was held out of team drills for the last hour or so, but he looked fine. Everyone appears to be pretty healthy through two days so far.

-After working at safety on Wednesday, Morrell Osling was at cornerback tonight. Same with Keyon Riley.

-There weren't many changes to the depth chart. Holmes in for the injured Meadors on defense, and on offense, it looked like Bolu Olorunfunmi got the start over Soso Jamabo. So here's what it looked like out there this evening:

Offense

QB - Josh Rosen; Devon Modster
RB - Bolu Olorunfunmi; Soso Jamabo
WR - Everyone was rotating in and out again. Eldridge Massington, Darren Andrews, Theo Howard, Alex Van Dyke, Demetric Felton all saw starters' minutes. Jordan Lasley still was noticeably with the threes more than with the ones and twos, though.
TE - Caleb Wilson; Jordan Wilson
LT - Kolton Miller; Jake Burton
LG - Najee Toran; Michael Alves
C - Scott Quessenberry; Josh Wariboko
RG - Andre James; Poasi Moala
RT - Sunny Odogwu; Kenny Lacy

Defense

DE - Jaelan Phillips; Keisean Lucier-South
DT - Jacob Tuioti-Mariner; Chigozie Nnoruka
DT - Boss Tagaloa; Nick Terry
DE - Matt Dickerson; Rick Wade
OLB - Breland Brandt; Mique Juarez
MLB - Kenny Young; Lokeni Toailoa
OLB - Josh Woods; Krys Barnes
CB - Denzel Fisher, Keyon Riley
S - Adarius Pickett; Will Lockett
S - Jaleel Wadood, Octo Spencer
CB - Darnay Holmes, Colin Samuel

-I thought Josh Rosen was better tonight, though still he was far from the Rosen we're all used to. After completing maybe 25 percent of his throws last night, I'd put him at around 50 percent tonight. But it was much more of the pass rush that dictated his night tonight, rather than last night where he just looked off. Jacob Tuioti-Mariner and Jaelan Phillips were just constantly in his face. He did have one Rosen-esque throw, though, dropping a 23-yard dime to Darren Andrews over Adarius Pickett. Rosen gave a little fist pump afterward.

-I thought Devon Modster was really sharp tonight, as he was last night. He had a nice deep ball TD to Jordan Lasley over Morrell Osling that was a great throw. Later, he stepped up in the pocket to beat the rush and found Jordan Wilson. A few series after that, he hit Darren Andrews on a short slant for a TD down on the goal line. In spring ball, I actually thought Matt Lynch looked better than Modster, but through two days here so far, the backup job is all Modster's.

-I mentioned this earlier, but JTM and Jaelan Phillips were just dominant tonight. I've got like five notes in my notebook singling the two out. Phillips worked new tackle Sunny Odogwu in 1-on-1s, and JTM got Kolton Miller in 1-on-1s as well. The duo were all over Rosen in 11-on-11s, with JTM running over Caleb Wilson one time to get to Rosen. It was an impressive day from the two.

-Devin Asiasi is the best third-string TE in the nation. He was impressive in individuals, and in team work, I saw him turn around Brandon Burton with a nice little out route.

-Every year in camp, there's a walk-on wideout that really shines, and so far, that man has been Christian Pabico. He had another two catches that earned notes in my notebook tonight, with one being a little bubble that he exploded for a near touchdown.

-Alex Van Dyke had a nice end to practice in redzone 11-on-11. He caught a few passes from Rosen, including one in traffic, for long gains.

-Austin Burton hit a streaking Jordan Lasley (over Jay Shaw) in redzone 11-on-11s that was probably the highlight play of the drill. Burton had a couple of those last night, too.

-On the freshman front, I thought Stephan Zabie looked solid at tackle, mostly because he was going against other freshmen and walk-ons. He's a very good-looking tackle prospect. I thought Greg Rogers had a little "Welcome to UCLA" moment. He kept trying to bull rush all night, and at one point, Angus McClure had to stop his 1-on-1 rep to get him to not do it anymore. He's huge and strong, but UCLA would obviously like him to develop more than just a bench press move, especially when the team is in just shorts and shirts.

-I had JJ Molson at 5-for-7 on the night, but the two misses came in "game-winning" field goal time. His 28-yard miss to end practice actually gave the defense the "win" for practice for the day.

-On the punter competition front, it wasn't pretty tonight. Austin Kent clearly has the stronger leg, hitting a 65-yarder and a 57-yarder, but he also had a 45-yard shank with no hang time. Flintoft was more consistent, with less shanks, but most of his kicks only went 40 yards.

-Injured Zach Bateman was out at practice but just watching from the parking lot in street clothes.

UCLA is back on the field at 7:15 p.m. again on Friday night.
