There are some, many actually, posters who need to step back and survey the entire program on the basis of where it’s at compared to where it was five years ago.
There is way too much venom after a loss. If you keep up with the game thread, there is too much venom after a bad play or bad series.
UCLA is not the best team in the country. It is one of the top 20 in the nation, one that is capable of beating any team on a given Saturday and also one that is capable of getting beat by an inspired unranked team with great athletes.
It is just the nature of the game. We are now winning close to 80 percent of our games. That’s a good thing.
To start calling for the heads of our position coaches because of a bad game is like a dog chasing its tail.
Do we have the best coaches in America? Does any college have the best coaches in America? Do the best coaches in America ever lose?
What we have in Coach Mora is a dedicated coach who has changed the culture of our team and turned it into one of national prominence, one that gets discussed when people talk about which teams deserve to get into the final four, a team with a freshman quarterback who is being called the future face of college football. This is good for our program.
Okay, so we lost a game. It’s not the end of the world. We are hurting a little bit on defense and our offensive line was outplayed Saturday. I didn’t enjoy it either, but it’s now up to the coaches to watch the film, make the necessary changes and keep us going in the right direction.
I trust our staff to get it right.
