Three-star Colorado quarterback Matt Lynch has been adamant since the day he committed to UCLA that his pledge would not waiver.
After his official visit to UCLA this past weekend, that sentiment doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon.
The 6-foot-5, 182-pound, dual-threat quarterback flew in to Los Angeles on Saturday, caught the Arizona State game at the Rose Bowl, hung out with coaches and players, and left Sunday thrilled with his potential future in L.A.
“The trip was awesome,” Lynch said. “It was a good time to get away from Broomfield and check out how I'm going to spend my next four years of my life. It was a special one.”
Lynch did all the normal things that official visitors do on trips – take tours, eat big meals, talk with future teammates – but the thing that stood out most to him was the Rose Bowl.
“It was my first time at the stadium and it really was a great first experience,” Lynch said.
Even though the Bruins lost, Lynch said that might have been a good thing for the Colorado QB to see, because he got to watch a side of Jim Mora he hadn’t seen before.
“Mora really handled the game well after the loss,” Lynch said. “He's the type of coach that knows how to talk to the team and fire them up for the next week, but also how to talk to them after a loss. He really is a great guy.”
Lynch still intends to enroll at UCLA in January.
