Most people are not aware of how different things can be in summer leagues. Different as in new officials breaking into the job, new events trying to make a mark, and new coaches not understanding how things work.
Then you have players wanting to do what they can't / don't do in season. I.E. centers wanting to play guard and shoot threes, while guards decide they want to work on their moves and never stop dribbling.
It's a time of experimentation for kids who don't play together in the basketball season, led by coaches and officials who may or may not be competent. In other words, and any similarity to summer games and standard HS / college games is purely coincidental.
Below is a further example of why the vast concern over Lavar Ball is for naught, as he's merely an attention getting, but small piece, of a much bigger picture.
