The Associated Press has released its preseason top 25 poll this morning and UCLA is one of the top teams outside the top list. The Bruins received 47 points to tie with St. John's as the third team outside the top 25 behind Wisconsin and Colorado. Marquette, UCLA's first opponent at the Maui Invitational, comes in at No. 5 while potential second-round opponent, Kansas, will enter the season ranked No. 1.
No. 22 Villanova is also on the nonconference schedule for the Bruins while another opponent, Maryland, received votes as well.
No. 12 Arizona and No. 21 USC are the two Pac-12 teams included in the preseason poll.
