I don't like this move at all! Miles' biggest issues was reading plays and not overrunning plays. He ran himself out of as many plays as he made last year and that was from the OUTSIDE! He can't do that as an ILB. When Kendricks was out of position you saw how awful our team looked. When we were getting gashed most of the time it was because Kendricks and whatever ILB was next to him were out of position. When they hit the holes and had gap responsibility they did awesome.

I don't see Miles being able to have the gap responsibility that he's supposed to have. So that would put tremendous pressure on Young to be gap conscious 100% of the time because his partner will be roaming. I think Miles is best suited on the outside in space. He can take advantage of his speed and athleticism more there. He can also line up in man easier on the outside.

He's not physical or big enough to take on blockers game after game. If I'm a OC I would just run right at him. He will either get caught up in the wash and/or get worn down by the pounding. Think of what teams did to Hollins on the outside and imagine what that looks like when you are running between the tackles. Holy smokes! Can you say gashed?

I'm really hopeful that this is just a spring experiment and they are just waiting for one of the younger guys to step up to the forefront. If Miles is our starting ILB we will have MAJOR problems IMO.
