I probably pointed this out in the past, but I've always heard Mora had limited contacts within the college ranks. Most of his contacts understandably are from the NFL, however now 5 years into college football it appears his knowledge of college coaches is limited by the hires of Fisch and Fraley.
UCLA has the 11th highest paid coaching staff (reported last year by TOS Mod) in college football, yet it took Mora 2 months to fill the two most important positions and it landed us Fisch and Fraley. Two guys who are completely unknowns and without a lot of experience coaching their new positions at UCLA. These two may prove to be very good hires, which I hope they are. You just have to wonder how tuned into college coaches that Mora is.
Other schools like Oregon, LSU, Texas, etc...filled out their open positions within weeks of starting their respective searches, which helped them keep recruiting going.
His feel for college coaching hires (promotions) and his recruiting tactics are questionable into his 5th season.
