Jim Mora spoke for the final time before the UNLV game on Wednesday. The notes:
-Mora said Takkarist McKinley is "unlikely to play" with his groin injury. He was hopeful Cam Griffin and Deon Hollins could play after suffering concussions last month. He said UCLA will "do the right thing" and will continue to play it safe with their head injuries. Mora officially dubbed Hollins "questionable."
-Mora was asked about Mique Juarez again, but declined to comment, only saying UCLA has a "plan" in place for the freshman linebacker who hasn't practiced with the team in nearly a month.
-Mora did not seem pleased with Nate Iese's performance on Saturday, telling the media specifically that Caleb Wilson will earn more playing time over Iese this weekend because of it.
-No real update on the Nate Starks situation. Mora said he'll play "if I decide to play him."
-I think guys like Theo Howard and Mossi Johnson and Stephen Johnson are in a different boat than Starks (i.e. probably not suspended). Mora said once again he couldn't get Howard and others in the TAMU game Saturday because "you can't get everybody in in every game."
-Mora said he's yet to place some walk ons on scholarship, but he will do so at the end of the month when classes start.
