UCLA is slated for another group of visitors on campus this weekend after kicking off the spring official visit season last weekend with a small group. This weekend there are five prospects expected on campus for official visits with four of the five prospects arriving to Westwood today and the other one coming in tomorrow. All five of the prospects visiting this weekend have been offered by the Bruins and UCLA is very much in play for each of them and should be considered the favorite for a couple of them. Here is a rundown of who will be on campus this weekend with the Bruins.

May 13 arrivals

Notable offers: Oregon, Washington, Cal, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State, San Diego State

Rundown: Since offering Jerry Mixon last month, UCLA has jumped into the driver's seat in his recruitment. Oregon recently came through with an offer while Cal, Washington and Arizona have all made a push for the two-way athlete prospect. But, he thinks highly of new UCLA linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr., and that has helped the Bruins gain control. While it is not expected that he will pull the trigger on a commitment this weekend, it would not be a total shock to see him make that move. UCLA is in a good position. He will play linebacker with the Bruins should he eventually join the program.

What he said about UCLA: “So, UCLA, coach Ken Norton, the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), he calls me every week to check in. We text a lot. And, then, he talks to my parents a lot. So, we’re building a relationship.”

Top 6: UCLA, Auburn (OV-6/3), Arizona (OV-6/10), Oregon, Cal, Tennessee

Rundown: San Diego-Lincoln running back Roderick Robinson trimmed his list down to six schools last weekend. UCLA made the cut after offering him in February. He has built a strong connection with UCLA running backs coach DeShaun Foster, and the idea of staying close to home has certainly been appealing. He has two other official visits set up with with Auburn and Arizona set to receive those two trips in June. Cal has made a strong push for Robinson and will be in the mix for his commitment as well. Robinson is originally from South Carolina, where his mom still resides, and his dad is from Alabama originally. Robinson only moved to the West Coast a couple years ago, but he certainly has grown fond of the schools in the Pac-12. This trip to UCLA will be the first official visit of the process for Robinson.

Notable offers: Iowa State (OV-6/10), Iowa (OV-6/24), Washington, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas State, Georgia Tech

Rundown: UCLA offered Jamison Patton, the versatile athlete prospect from Iowa, back in March and have made up a lot of ground in that time. Though he plays a lot on offense, Patton is being recruited as a safety by most college programs, and UCLA is also looking at him on the defensive side of the ball. Getting him out of Iowa will be the task for the Bruins as both in-state programs have been out in front during the process. He will take official visits to Iowa and Iowa State next month, but a strong visit with UCLA this weekend could change the picture.

Notable offers: Cal (OV-6/3), Washington State, Duke, Boise State, San Diego State

Rundown: The linebacker from Utah has seen increased attention this spring, and UCLA is one of the newer offers for the 6-foot-1 inside linebacker. His offer from the Bruins just came in a few weeks ago, but the program has made up a lot of ground in that span thanks to the work of Norton. The Bruins are the first school to receive an official visit from Cade Uluave, but he will also take an official trip to Cal early next month. The Bears have been a big part of the process since early on, and he has already had a chance to take a trip up to Berkeley this spring. This weekend's trip to UCLA will be his first time on campus with the Bruins. Uluave is putting a high value on academics, and at this point UCLA and Cal are out front in what is shaping up to be a battle between the two schools for his eventual commitment.

May 14 arrival

Notable offers: USC (OV-6/16), Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Cal, Michigan, Nebraska, Utah

Rundown: Bakersfield-Liberty defensive lineman has a dad who played at Stanford and in the NFL, and he has become one of the priority targets for a number of programs across the country this offseason. He has great size at around 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds leading a wave of offers this spring. UCLA will be the first school to get him out on an official visit, and the Bruins have become a big part of this process for Buckey. He will take an official visit to USC next month while Stanford remains in the picture as well.
