I'm not too sure if Echols is telling different reporters vastly different things, but I sent him a DM asking if he was still committed to UCLA and he said, "I'm still committed." I'm putting him back on UCLA's commitment list now.
The way I see it, his recruitment hasn't changed from what we've been reporting over the past few months. He still remains committed to UCLA, but he's very open to other schools ("100 percent open" if you read the article). In my opinion, the news in the most recent article wasn't the "100 percent open" quote. It was that he's locked in officials to Notre Dame, Michigan, Nebraska, likely LSU and maybe Washington. Now UCLA knows those schools, plus USC, are probably the biggest competition.
Either way, this is going to be a monthly thing with Echols. I still believe it comes down to UCLA-USC in the end and I still believe he signs with UCLA.
