Punting killed any field position

if you are talking about recruiting misses, the biggest one was not getting a real punter after the one we had flunked out after his freshmen year. That was playing with fire and finally came to bite us in the ass. You can't play with the field tilted the entire game. When you are playing tough games you need to at least be even in the field position game. We always had long fields to go and they had short ones. That slowly kills a defense. It's hard to keep a team out of scoring range when. They start on the 40 yard line every time. Our kickoff team also killed us today. Again, giving up too much field position. To me, this was the game.
