UCLAs domination of The U of A shows how smart it is to schedule real opponents rather than the weak opponents the Wildcats or Trojans played.
No, I'm not arguing that UVa or UNLV are world beaters, but they are honest division 1 opponents (Look at the scare UVa threw into media darling Notre Dame). BYU played the Bruins as tough as any PAC 12 team. I can only attribute they're melt-down at the Big House to a hang over from their narrow loss to the Bruins and the fact that when you play a Jim Harbaugh coached team you had better come ready.
The Bruins were ready to play. The Wildcats were not. Hence, the hosts kindly gifted the Bruins with at least 3 unforced errors, BUT the Bruins were ready to take advantage of the gifts. That's how you win games and that's how you get ready for the PAC 12.
