Most of us think that we should not burn either Modster's or Lynch's red shirt next season. But we do have a lack of depth at the QB position. Let's say that during the Spring and Fall camp, Modster is the clear back up for Rosen. Won't the coaches try to give him the second string reps during practices? Will he be the emergency back up in case Josh is injured and needs to come out for one play or series? Do you bring in Faufal, even though he had not won the back up position outright? Coach JM did use some red shirts last year to try to give the players game time experience, like Halilo. Josh Woods' redshirt was used out of necessity. Wanted to throw that question out to the board for their opinions.
