-Five-star running back Stephen Carr was out at UCLA practice yesterday, and when I spoke to a source close to Carr about the trip, the source said, "Great day for UCLA." The Bruins haven't really made Carr a priority, thinking he's another Jack Jones, Adoree Jackson or Iman Marshall, but apparently the door is open for UCLA, per the source I spoke with. The source said Carr eyeballed all five of UCLA's tailbacks and wasn't scared off. Carr now has the Bruins entrenched in his top five, per the source, along with USC, LSU, Miami and Michigan. The source said he'll officially visit for the UCLA-USC game now. With Najee Harris looking more locked in than ever with his Alabama pledge, UCLA could be back in the middle of the race for Carr very soon.
-Heard from a source this week that Aaron Banks' mom is still very actively trying to set up an unofficial visit for her, her son and her family to take a big unofficial visit to UCLA. The source said they were trying to make the trip happen prior to his big Notre Dame visit two weeks ago, but it didn't work out. They were going to come this weekend as well, but with the Bruins in San Bernardino, it didn't work out this weekend either. I'd imagine the trip will happen sometime within the next week or two, however, with momma Banks apparently very, very high on Adrian Klemm and the Bruins.
-Hearing UCLA is gearing up to make three-star tackle Jalen McKenzie a top priority. Most schools are scared off by McKenzie's knee surgeries and the fact that he really hasn't played football since his sophomore year. But Klemm and the Bruins have already offered and are building a nice lead for if/when Tennessee, USC and Michigan inevitably come through. McKenzie has gone on record stating those are his three favorite schools, but with Klemm and UCLA the only school really going after him hard right now, that could change things.
