TE Spencer Shannon's latest visit to UCLA comes with unique experience
Spencer Shannon's latest visit to UCLA gave him an opportunity to spend time with the Bruins tight end group.
Santa Ana-Mater Dei tight end Spencer Shannon is becoming one of the top prospects at his position on the West Coast in the 2023 class. He has continued to stack offers this offseason, but UCLA is one school that has emerged as a top option already for the 6-foot-7 prospect. Shannon made the trek from La Verne, where he was at a camp, to Westwood on Saturday for another visit with the program. Though he didn't get to watch practice since he arrived later in the day, Shannon had dinner with Jeff Faris and the tight end group. That unique experience gave Shannon a look behind the scenes and could prove to be an important part of the evaluation process with the Bruins. He says that UCLA, Cal and Washington are the schools that have made it clear to him that he is a top priority.
“Things have been going really good with them. I just had my third unofficial visit there and it was just a great time. This time I got to go eat dinner with the tight ends and coach Faris. It was a great environment to see how they got along, see that the tight ends love Faris and Faris loves his tight ends. Great environment.”
