Perkins has to get out on the edge early in the game. The team has tried to run early in the game, they have not had a lot of success. The Bruins have to find a way to run with some success early. The swing game and WR screens seemed to be scouted well by teams. Thus, Mazzone needs to mess with the run game. It would be nice to see some sweeps, and off tackle plays. In the pass game. it would be interesting to see him spread the Cougs out and try to get Duarte in the middle. Then, move back to trying the edge with the WR screens/ swing passes.
On D: I like the idea of M. Jack in coverage. BYU is struggling to run the ball. The Bruins have done a good job stopping the run. BYU will need to throw the ball to have success. But, have been poor in getting sacks and turnovers. They need to win the first or second down run plays, to force Mangum into long 3rd down plays. Mangum will give them a chance at some turnovers. This will be an interesting test for the DC. I think you might see some more blitzing here, to try and throw the timing off routes and get some pressure on Mangum. I hope to see some interesting playcalls.
