Rooting for an upset of SC who has already locked up the South, while we carry a 5-5 record and yet another season of complete irrelevance. This feels a lot like...the last 19 years. I'm tired of rooting for mediocrity.

Say we beat SC. Great. That has ZERO impact on their season. They're in the Pac Championship regardless. Even if they lose, they still win. They're still laughing at our sorry asses. And they'll be belly laughing if we win and keep Mora around for another year.

And yet, if we win, we'll be celebrating like we just won the super bowl. Like last Saturday against ASU, watching our guys and our fans getting all hyped to beat a mediocre team at home to even up our record at .500 while toting the best QB in the country and top 15 talent across the board? And hearing UCLA fans celebrating this, as if we've turned some kind of corner? Like its a moral victory? A morale boost? A sign that the kids haven't quit on Mora? Pisses me right off. We're cheering for yet another year of letdown. We're a laughing stock you guys. The national media and college football fans everywhere look at UCLA and shake their damn heads. To accomplish so little with so much, is almost offensive.

Is this who we are? Is this our destiny? Should I just come to grips with our role as the Northwestern or Indiana or Vandy of the Pac-12?

YRU posted about feeling done with UCLA football a couple weeks ago. I definitely get the feeling. It's been a long life of being a die hard UCLA football fan. Finally the yearly gap between promises/expectations and actual performance has worn me down. Not sure how much more I can take.
