Always good to win even against a bad team. I am only going off what I saw the first time because this game was far too ugly to watch twice.

Running game is and will likely be terrible all year. The interior of the line is incapable of getting a push against almost anyone. On the upside the pass blocking should be above average and maybe even good (reserving judgement until there's a few more game).

Starks looks like the best of the backs but who can tell since there are 46 of them playing. The rich tradition of pissing away redshirts continues.

KP was a little too dogmatic in the interior run game, but I get that he doesn't want to throw 60 times a game (if they do it's unlikely Rosen makes it through the year). They can run a little behind Miller, but the other four are just not very string even against weak competition. Sadly, they are one dimensional and there one dimension is just okay due to poor WR play and inconsistent QB play.

Bradley actually put 8 in the box. Scrappy can learn!!! Now will this continue against QBs that throw the ball more than 10 yards down field? I wouldn't hold my breath, but one must always hope.

Regarding the prevent at the end of the game. Unless you had UCLA -3 or 3 1/2 it really wasn't that bad a decision. This isn't a very good defense and even a bad offense has a chance to score quickly against them. Best to just take the ugly win.

Brown finally had a big game. He seems to do best in a more attacking scheme.

Hollins first play I saw him in jumped offside (didn't get called) then ran himself out of the play. Somethings are so nicely consistent. Thank god he doesn't start anymore. Though he should play more on special teams.

Rosen missed a lot of open WRs. The change from last year to this one may well have something to do with the offense. NM offense is so simple that it's basically a HS offense. Easy reads, lots of automatic throws (it makes bad qbs look good). The new offense requires more reads and harder ones. Reads more like what Rosen will have to do in the NFL. Simply put, he isn't there yet. He looks like a still developing QB and far from a finished product.

DBs played well again. For this defense to be average or slightly above they will need to press the line and depend on them (again doubt this will happen).

DL in general played well. Good final numbers and controlled the line of scrimmage most of the night.

WRs played better so there's that. They actually caught the ball. Huzzah.

McKinley might be the most valuable player on the defense, but odds are he's going to be at 70% most of the year. Too bad they wasted his RS year.

Iese is a terrible blocker and probably should be on the bench. He may be one of those guys that doesn't find a position until the NFL, where I wouldn't be shocked if he sticks around for a few years.

Griffen looks like a pretty good FB. Good feet and hands, hard to evaluate his blocking since usually the OL was getting blown back.

Better on the penalties but still at least one idiotic one. Andrews talking trash was beyond dumb.

Current season guess
