I spoke with a bunch of high school coaches today. The two notes:
-One coach told me (and please don't turn this into an Eric Yarber thread) that he felt Eric Yarber had checked out of the recruiting game the past two years, rarely being seen at schools, especially in the inner city programs. The coach said Jimmie Dougherty has already expressed a much bigger interest in recruiting L.A.
-Another coach told me UCLA has really emphasized to him this year that they're not going to recruit as national anymore, focusing more on the West Coast. And if you look at their offers, that's exactly what's happening. I tweeted this a few days ago, but there have been double and maybe even quadruple the normal offers to West Coasters this year than past years. Apparently that's by design.
