UCLA MEN’S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE FINALIZED FOR 2019-20
Bruins scheduled to begin their season against Long Beach State on Nov. 6.
LOS ANGELES– UCLA will have all 31 regular-season men’s basketball games televised live this season, the Pac-12 Conference announced on Thursday.
The Bruins will have at least 11 games broadcast by the ESPN family of networks, including all three contests at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational (Nov. 25-27) and a non-conference game at Notre Dame (Dec. 14). Seven of UCLA’s conference games will be televised by the ESPN family of networks.
UCLA will have five games in Pac-12 play nationally televised by Fox Sports. The Bruins will have three games on CBS, including a non-conference showdown against North Carolina in Las Vegas (Dec. 21) as part of the CBS Sports Classic. UCLA’s game at Colorado (Feb. 22) and final regular-season game at USC (March 7) will also be aired by CBS.
Pac-12 Networks is scheduled to televise 12 regular-season contests, including the team’s first five home games in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom. UCLA’s opening homestand includes contests against Long Beach State (Nov. 6), UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 10), UNLV (Nov. 15), Southern Utah (Nov. 18) and Hofstra (Nov. 21), before the Bruins travel to play in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational.
In addition, the Bruins’ home exhibition contest against Stanislaus State will be televised by Pac-12 Networks on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
UCLA will return eight of its 11 primary contributors from last season’s team. The Bruins are led by a pair of redshirt seniors in Prince Ali and Alex Olesinski. Junior Chris Smith, redshirt sophomores Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, and sophomores Jules Bernard, Kenneth Nwuba and David Singleton are back for the Bruins in 2019-20. UCLA also has returned a pair of redshirt freshmen with Tyger Campbell and Shareef O’Neal and has welcomed incoming freshmen Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Jake Kyman.
The 2019-20 campaign will mark UCLA’s first season under the leadership of Mick Cronin, who was named The Michael Price Family UCLA Men’s Head Basketball Coach in April 2019. Cronin has compiled a 365-171 overall record in 16 previous seasons as a head coach. Most recently, he led the University of Cincinnati to nine consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and back-to-back conference tournament titles in 2018 and 2019 (American Athletic Conference).
