UCLA held its Pro Day today, here were the news and notes:
-I didn't notice too many NFL celebrities out there, but I did see Bills GM Doug Whaley and Browns head coach Hue Jackson.
-Myles Jack was the guy everybody came out to see and per some reports, it was the most well-attended Pro Day in school history. He looked explosive as always to me, but he did have a little bit of a hitch at the end of his runs, indicating there is still some uncomfortability with that injured knee. He said he was only 80 percent, so I guess we can officially put the conspiracy theories to bed that he could have returned during the year. He did not run a 40 time because the knee is still not healthy and Jim Mora said he'll actually be back on April 1 for another workout in front of NFL scouts and he'll run the 40 there. He jumped 40 inches today, but said he should be more around 44 inches when healthy.
-Kenny Clark will likely be the next highest pick here for UCLA, and I thought he looked outstanding. He weighed in at 300-plus and it looks like it's all muscle.
-On the O-line, I thought Alex Redmond blew away the drills. He looked far more powerful and explosive than Jake Brendel and Caleb Benenoch. Ellis McCarthy actually worked out with the O-linemen today, but it wasn't a great workout for him in my opinion.
-With the skill positions, Jordan Payton, Thomas Duarte, Logan Sweet, Devin Fuller, Paul Perkins and Rosy Davis all worked out. I actually thought Fuller had by far the best workout here, and Mora said he ran a 4.37 earlier in the day. His workout was so good, in fact, the Patriots brought him to the next field to see if he could catch punts. The rest of the guys here looked solid, but nothing eye-popping.
-Conor McDermott was the best-looking offensive lineman on the field, but he obviously didn't work out, as he's returning to UCLA. I saw Adarius Pickett on Bruin Walk, and he's looking huge. He told me he's up to 200 pounds now. Bumped into Scott Quessenberry, who said he's healthy after two surgeries last year.
