RB Roderick Robinson II remains committed to UCLA, will take fall visits
2023 4-star RB Roderick Robinson II is happy with his commitment to UCLA but has plans to take at least one fall visit.
San Diego-Lincoln running back Roderick Robinson II is UCLA's highest-rated commitment in the 2023 class, and he remains committed to the Bruins. However, he does plan on taking at least one more visit to another school this fall. The four-star recruit has locked in an official visit with Texas A&M for Sept. 16/17 when the Aggies play Miami. The Hurricanes are another team he is looking at plus schools such as Tennessee, Georgia and Oregon are all involved still as well. Even before he made the decision to pick UCLA, the thought has been that he would eventually take more visits in the fall. So, this isn't coming as a big shock. His relationship with DeShaun Foster and his appreciation for Chip Kelly's system are important to the Bruins holding onto his commitment until signing day.
“I think that they think they have a great chance of keeping me. I mean they do. It’s just a great school academically and athletically. It’s more than just a four-year decision. They’re producing tons of players at all positions going into the draft and going into the league. Coach Foster, I think, is one of the best running back coaches in the country. So that plus Chip Kelly’s offense where big backs succeed, like Zach [Charbonnet] is doing right now, that’s a great reason for me to stay.”
He didn't have a typical Roderick Robinson-like performance last week when I watched his team take on Alemany, but he was asked to do a lot of things he won't be asked at the next level. Lincoln struggled across the board and was upset by Alemany, but there were still some strong flashes from Robinson to back up his rise up the rankings this year.
