Will have a story up tonight, but UCLA head coach Mick Cronin provided a number of updates Friday during his appearance on the “Petros and Money” radio show from Rock and Brews bar and restaurant in El Segundo.
-To replace Ivo Simovic, Cronin said another assistant with international recruiting ties will be added to the staff.
-Jan Vide arrives in Westwood on Sunday on time for the second summer session.
-Two more signings will be announced next week. While he’s not allowed to publicly name them yet, per NCAA rules, he alluded to one playing at the FIBA U18 European Championships.
That, of course, would be Aday Mara of Spain.
In all, Cronin said, the Bruins will have eight new players on the roster next season.
-UCLA’s nine-day international trip to Spain will begin Aug. 20.
“It gives us extra practice time,” Cronin said of the benefits of doing it this year with so much roster turnover.
