Today the NCAA launched NIL Assist, which pulls back the curtain a bit with de-identified disclosures of NIL deals for athletes.

The dashboard can be filtered to sort it by sport, and even by position, as well as transaction type. It’s a voluntary tool, though.

In January, the Division I Council passed rules requiring players to report NIL deals worth more than $600. So that information has been used to put this platform together.

Will probably get a more accurate read on the market over time, but fascinating nonetheless.

T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will host the 2027 Big Ten women’s basketball tournament and the 2028 men’s event as part of a rotation announced Wednesday by the conference.

The 2025-28 sites were locked in for both tournaments.

The women’s tournament will be in Indianapolis in 2025 and 2026 and Detroit in 2028.

The men’s tournament will be played in Indianapolis in 2025, Chicago in 2026 and Indianapolis in 2027.

The update on the second Mater Dei recruit that was on campus this past weekend:

The program announced this morning that its Aug. 10 and 17 practices, which are both Saturdays, will be open for the public to watch atop the Lot 8 parking structure.

The Bruins will be doing post-practice autograph signings and giving away prizes.

Parking will be enforced, and photography and video is not permitted.

It seems like we hear about a lot of 2026 and even 2027 recruits now, but many we were recruiting for 2025 have made their decisions. We need a pretty full class to replenish our depleted roster.

Here’s a one-stop shop for every interview done tonight. It was honestly the most relaxed environment I can recall since covering collegiate sports and it was pretty good experience.

We even got to talk to freshmen we normally wouldn’t get until later, such as receiver Kwazi Gilmer and running back Cameron Jones.
