UCLA vs Minnesota…the Good, the Bad, the Ugly

The Good: the perforance of Carson Schlesinger, the dude was all over the place with 12 tackles and 2 sack. Our defense held the high flying offense to a measly 234 total yards and scoreless in the first half. Garbers played well, keeping drives alive with his passing….25 OF 36, 295 yards and 1 TD…unfortunately he also had 3 costly INT that cost UCLA a win. Kudos to J. Michael for having a great game!

The Bad: Our running game… 36 rushing yards. Harden had only 7 carries for 15 yards or 2.1 ypc. Berger had 8 carries for 20 yards.

The Ugly: the penalties…UCLA had over a 100 yds of penalties that stalled drives or helped Minnesota offense.

Madden Iamaleava denied by CIF-SS

The CIF Southern Section denied Long Beach Poly quarterback and UCLA 2025 commit Madden Iamaleava’s push to be cleared for immediate competition after transferring from Downey (Calif.) Warren after one game.

In the notes on the transfer portal section of the CIF-SS website it states: “Denied athletic eligibility in all sports at Poly/Long Beach or any CIF high school until October 1, 2026.”

Thoughts on the Minnesota game??

I think UCLA will play better...perhaps not win it, but they won't be quite as ragged. I think attendance will be roughly the same as the Indiana game...45K plus. I think that UCLA will have a better distribution at the RB plus Harden is a little beat up so Jones and Berger will probably get the ball more. I think that UCLA has finally took a oline that they like with Prongos, Holstege, Sam Yoon, Carlin and DiGiorgio. I believe that Garbers will return to the starting lineup.
