I wouldn't care about polls if they did not help position a team for the bowls and final four, but if you don't think the media has a bias for the SEC and the independent Notre Dame take a look at today's AP poll. The reason given for UCLA staying out of the top ten was the uncertainty of the QB position. If ND, Texas A&M and Missouri make a positive move up, one would expect the Bruins to move up as well. It is especially bias in ND's case since their were no losses above their previous ranking. I guess I should be thankful we didn't move down in the polls.
