Sorry listing all positives today as I am not in a negative mood, HA!!!

1) Josh Rosen is the real deal but does make freshman mistakes like the pick he threw. But he can make all the throws.

2) Best receiver of the day was Tyler Scott (walk on) seems bigger and stronger and kept getting open.

3) Jordan Lasley is a spectacular receiver but is prone to drop a few, but then he will turn around and make a spectacular one handed catch.

4) Paul Perkins looks bigger and more explosive. He has such great vision he seems like he can take it to the house on every carry. He and Rosen need to get on the same page regarding the halfback swing pass. They were off today, and later they discussed it on the sidelines. But Perk is a true Heisman candidate.

5) Nate Starks looks good but every now and then he will display a spectacular burst of speed and everyone around me said "Who's that?"

6) Craig Lee has too much speed at tailback to not be utilized for at least 5-6 touches a game.

7) Roosevelt Davis (a walk on running back) has too much speed not to be utilized in some capacity.

8) The best defensive back of the day was Jaleel Wadood, he was all over the place and had a nice pick six. He's little but he hits with a real wallop.

9) Noticed better coverage by safety Tahaan Goodman and Denzel Fisher at cornerback showed great potential with good coverage skills, but all the defensive backs were too grabby with their hands and will have to adjust for the Pac 12 refs.

Summary:

The defense played pretty vanilla with few if any blitzes to allow the offense to move the ball. But you can tell this is one of UCLA's most talented teams. If Rosen does indeed win the quarterback spot they should utilize Perkins as much as possible to take the pressure off of Rosen. Perkins is the truth.
