It was rainy, windy and freezing for about 60 percent of today out here in Vegas, so it wasn't exactly easy to play, or evaluate for that matter. Nonetheless, here were some of the notables from Day Two of Pylon 7v7:

Quarterbacks

-Watched Nick Sipe throw for a half a game and he completed nearly every pass, including two-for-two for two touchdowns to start the game. He'll be at our QB Challenge next week, and if he performs well there, I don't really know what else he can do to prove he's a Pac-12 caliber player.

-Tate Martell had a nice game in a blizzard in the one game I watched Gorman's 7-on-7 team play. He was pinpoint accurate despite some terrible conditions.

-I caught a half of Tua Tagovailoa's game, and he was just methodically marching his team down the field seven or eight yards at a time. I think right now it's Tua on tier one and then everybody else on my West Coast QB board.

Running backs

-I saw TMP play for a bit and Najee Harris had a few catches with a few eye-popping yards after the catch. Darnay Holmes is a beast, but Harris has to be the No. 1 player in the region this year.

Tight ends

-2018 TE and UCLA lean Brevin Jordan looked solid again in the Gorman game I watched. He only caught a pass or two, but he moves really well.

Linebackers

-Eli Ankou's friend and fellow Canadian Luiji Vilain just visited UCLA two days ago and he looked excellent at linebacker. Was like a bigger more fluid Breland Brandt. He sounded pretty interested in UCLA, particularly because of the Ankou/Canadian connection. He has a long way to go until decision time, however.

-Oregon signee Lamar Winston has a 2018 little brother, Eli'Jah Winston, who looks like a budding monster. He's 6 feet 3ish, 200-plus pounds and he moves well. It sounds like he might be forced to go to Oregon because playing with his brother is likely what the family will want, but he actually told me he's more of a UCLA guy than an Oregon one. Scott White has already recruited him hard. I'd expect him to have Oregon and UCLA offers by the time his junior year ends.

Defensive backs

-Johnny Johnson has a little brother, 2017 CB Jaylon Johnson, who I think is the second-best corner I've seen in this region behind Darnay Holmes. The younger Johnson, though, said he's not considering UCLA at all. He says he doesn't want to go to the same school as his older brother and wants to make a name for himself. It's a tough break for UCLA, because he looks like a special talent.

I'll have interviews, articles and clips videos up on the front page all week from all of the weekend's action.
