Do you go tempo against Stanford?

Rhythm and pace seems to benefit our offense, but I hope we ditch that formula this week. I figure if it hasn't worked in the past, we need to try something different this time around. Playing up-tempo seems to play into Stanford's hands as they love to control the clock.

In the Tuesday interview, Mora downplayed this, but I really hope he is just throwing smoke. Not allowing Stanford to control clock goes beyond the defense getting stops. The onus is on the offense to control the clock as well. The way we run offense, you need to put together a ridiculously long drive in order to hold the ball for more than 5 minutes. I don't think that works against this team. You have to let some time tick off the clock between plays. Otherwise, our D is going to be getting put in awful situations and with our obvious deficiencies on that side of the ball, they cannot be asked to win this game.

Obviously the downside is that it changes our offensive identity and it might be detrimental to what Rosen likes to do. Anywho, thoughts?
