Jim Mora met with the media for the first time this week. The notes:
-Mora said Stanford presents a "tremendous challenge" and a "great opportunity" for UCLA this week.
-Mora said Christian McCaffrey "is the top player in college football." Said he will be a large focus for UCLA this week.
-Mora mentioned UCLA "got bigger" inside, but if they're not sound in gap control, it won't matter against McCaffrey.
-Mora was coy about Soso Jamabo and Ainuu Taua, who inexplicably didn't suit up against BYU. Mora: "I hope (they'll be available Saturday). It depends how they're week goes. If they have a good week, hopefully they'll be available for Saturday. It'd be nice to have a full contingent ready to go." Mora essentially said the same thing with regard to Randall Goforth, who didn't make the trip to Provo.
-Mora said Takkarist McKinley "seemed to be OK last night" and he was "his same old goofy self." He said his status will be determined as the week goes on.
-USC complained last weekend that Stanford was calling out cadences to get them to false start. Mora said to combat that when Stanford comes to the Rose Bowl, he'll alert the officials.
-Mora said Stanford is probably "a bit bigger" than BYU, but he sees a lot of similiarities between Stanford's D and BYU's.
