I have some questions since it was brought up.
When and how did this "over the wall" tradition start? Why did coaches such as RN allow it to go on?
Doesn't make sense for a team to be allowed to skip practice, particularly when the players are on scholarship to participate in the football program. Seems to me that such a custom would give everybody who heard about it the perception that the team was soft and didn't take football seriously.
Just my thoughts.
