There had been some rumblings about this, and tonight the news was unfortunately confirmed that former UCLA forward Jalen Hill has died at just 22. He had recently gone missing in Costa Rica. His family confirmed the news tonight in a private post on Instagram. I was able to get to know Hill as a young high school prospect finding his way on the court before he eventually blossomed into a legitimate high-major prospect by the time his junior year arrived. It was sad to see him forced to retire from the game because of mental health issues after a sometimes rocky career with the Bruins, but he spoke later about how much that helped improve his mental health overall.
Just a truly sad story and news to learn tonight.
