Per one of my mysterious sources in Texas, UCLA is currently the prohibitive leader for 2017 QB Davis Mills, a Rivals 100 recruit from the Atlanta metro area. I was told Texas was in touch with Mills about an offer after 5-star QB Shawn Robinson committed to TCU, and Mills basically told them he'd appreciate an offer and would look hard at UT, but they'd have to do a ton to move UCLA off the top of his current list. Texas offered a 3-star QB from Austin named Sam Ehlinger today, so that's all you need to know about how they (supposedly) took Mills's (alleged) input.
Georgia was Mills's dream school, but they've already taken a local 4-star QB named Bailey Hockman in that class, so Mills started looking around, hit it off with Taylor Mazzone, and was absolutely blown away by his visit to UCLA last Monday. We'll see what happens when high-level SEC offers come in for him, but it's a rare bit of good news right now, so I thought I'd share it with you guys and gals.
