Our Washington reporter Lars Hanson reports the big Michigan TE is in fact looking to transfer to a California school, though USC is the one buzzing:
"Multiple sources have noted the ideal destination for Asiasi to be Southern Cal, pairing the former four-star tight end with Trojans' starting quarterback Sam Darnold. Until there is a decision from Michigan's end Asiasi will remain in limbo, and sources did not express a timetable for a potential release from UM."
Brandon Brown, our Michigan reporter, tells me he's hearing the USC buzz as well:
"Haven't heard UCLA as much as USC which is a bit surprising since his boy (Boss Tagaloa) is at UCLA."
I'm waiting to hear back from one more NorCal source I trust on the Asiasi recruitment to see what their feelings are on the situation. But at this point, I think if UCLA were to beat out USC here it'd be a surprise.
UPDATE: OK my source up in NorCal got back to me and said the buzz he's actually hearing is for UCLA:
"I heard UCLA and maybe USC," the source said. "But I also heard Harbaugh is not gonna let him go ... UCLA was always a top for him, trust me. Boss is there that's his boy. He doesn't have any boys up at Michigan."
So we'll see here. This one could get interesting in a hurry.
