There are a lot of good teams this year with fewer losses and fewer losses to unranked teams. But we are a brand name and are on a tear, so I was expecting to be ranked in the top 25 again.

We probably have to beat 2 of Illinois, MSU, Purdue and win maybe all but 2 remaining regular season games to get a favorable rank and seed. I think we can beat most teams on a great night, but the top 10 teams are so good that I don’t see us as a 7 seed beating a 2 in the second round and then beating 4 highly ranked teams beyond that to win a title. Our best path is being a 3 or 4 and getting to the round of 16 to face teams who knocked off high seeds with great shooting nights.

It’s amazing how good the best teams are night in and night out. Auburn, Iowa State, Duke, and half the SEC look like world beaters on a regular basis.
