On Full Ride this AM, Yogi Roth - who's expertise on all matters Xs and Os in the Pac-12 I trust completely - was saying that after watching film of the UCLA game, the WRs were the atrocious ones. He actually said Speight was fine, it was that the WRs were telegraphing their routes (chopping their feet and showing their shoulders at 3 yards on 5 yard outs) which resulted in Cinci's DBs just breaking 100% on the ball.
We've been critical of our WRs hands for good reason, but this to me is even more concerning. Run a crisp route. You can practice that in the dorm hallway. You can run routes all day. You don't need a QB to do that. There's NO EXCUSE for running bad routes. That's your main job! Plus, speed on the outside is one of our advantages over most teams. If we can't even get that right..............
