Recruiting rule change

Starting July 1, recruits will no longer be limited to five total official visits. Recruits will still be limited to one official visit per school, unless there is a head coaching change after an official visit and in that case they will be allowed another official visit.

Official visits may not last longer than a two-night stay, during which schools can cover travel costs, transportation, meals and reasonable entertainment for up to two family members accompanying the prospect.

Offensive guard in portal offered

Emmanuel Pregnon, a sophomore offensive guard at Wyoming, entered the transfer portal the first day it opened Saturday.

Within hours, Pregnon has picked up offers from Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Oregon and Purdue.

Thus far at spring camp, the UCLA offensive line has struggled in the interior as it replaces Atonio Mafi and Jon Gaines II as starters.

Purdue transfer Spencer Holstege is locked in at left guard, so Pregnon is being looked at for the other spot. Pregnon, who redshirted his first season, was a freshman All-American last season.

At Saturday’s practice, Josh Carlin was among the right guards in the unofficial first-team rotation.

Seems like a prime candidate for not leaving. Obviously being at UCLA (a Sweet Sixteen team) worked out really well for him. You'd think a guy like that would be looking at two options, and neither would be transferring.
Choice a) Go pro
Choice b) Pull a Flip and return for a year.

Interesting that this came up just a day or two after reports UCLA was likely to land a 7-3 center from Spain.

DTR Getting Some Respect

There’s been a suggestion in Twitterverse that DTR might be a good for for the Rams.
Thought?

One quarterback that is flying well below the radar is UCLA’s Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Most evaluators have pinned “DTR” to the middle round of the draft, though Chris Simms has went out on a limb and ranked the Los Angeles product as his fifth QB with Levis:

Taller than Bryce Young, faster than Bryce Young, think his arm might be stronger than Bryce Young. He plays the position of quarterback right up there with the top guys in the sport. I mean he can do everything…he has a little bit of a long wind-up, maybe doesn’t see the field as well as C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young…I would argue that going through reads and seeing the field other than Stroud and Young he’s the next best one in the group, even maybe better than Hendon Hooker in that department… his mechanics are great, his feet is great, he’s got a really natural, fluid motion…this kid’s got starting quarterback NFL traits.
