David Washington, a 2024 four-star wide receiver from Las Vegas, announced he will announce his college choice July 10.

He will choose between Cal, Oregon State, UCLA and Utah. Washington was among the official visitors during the final week of spring camp during the first week of May.

Among the things he’s looking for is a pro-style offense to play in.

Oregon State left a big impression on him and is the presumed favorite.

FIBA U19 World Cup

Jan Vide led Slovenia to a second-place finish in the group stage of the tournament. Slovenia, ranked 10th in the FIBA world rankings, finished behind Team USA with a 2-1 record in Group B.

In the round of 16, though, Slovenia lost Wednesday to Canada 90-69.

UCLA signee Jan Vide is having a terrific tournament, averaging a team-high 18.5 points through four games (tied for fourth among all players). He scored 25 against Madagascar in Tuesday’s 74-71 win.

Now playing in the 9th-16th place games, Slovenia will return to action Friday against Egypt. Games are being streamed on youtube.com/fiba, for those interested.

Here’s what he told Bleacher Report when asked about UCLA following Tuesday’s action:

2024 RB Cameron Jones talks UCLA official visit: ‘All I felt was love’

Cameron Jones was one of two more official visitors I caught up with late last night.

His relationship with RB coach DeShaun Foster is a pretty strong one at this point. While he’s still playing coy about his recruitment, it feels very much like UCLA is at the top of his list.

Ivo Simovic is on the move

UCLA assistant and key international recruiter Ivo Simovic is reportedly headed to the NBA as a new member of the staff in Toronto. He wasn’t on the road with the other Bruins coaches this weekend yet Mick Cronin had another staffer there in Arizona, and this certainly explains that.

It will be interesting to see what happens with UCLA’s international recruiting moving forward since Cronin has leaned into that this offseason and it has looked like it will be a big part of the plan moving forward.

UCLA’s ‘NFL environment’ leaves impression on four-star DE Elijah Rushing

The Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe product was the highest-rated recruit on an official visit to Westwood over the weekend and he went in-depth on a number of areas, including his thoughts about playing away from home and a meeting with DC D’Anton Lynn that was one of the more “unique” he’s had with any college coach at this point in his recruitment.

OLB/D-line coach Ikaika Malloe made up for lost time quite well in his recruitment of Rushing, who he originally had contact with while coaching at Washington.

UPDATE: 2025 G Jovani Ruff talks UCLA offer, timeline

Jovani Ruff, ranked 28th in the class of 2025, picked up an offer from UCLA today.

The Long Beach Poly shooting guard has a smooth game, from what I saw covering one of his team’s games back in late December. Watched him score 16 points that night.

His recruitment has started to go national, of late, with programs like Kansas and Kentucky getting involved.
